Congratulations, Melinda, on receiving the November 2011 Excellence in STEM Award.

Wisconsin Education Innovations (WEI) would like to recognize and deeply thank Melinda deCoriolis-Corey for her 17 years of service as Executive Director.  Melinda was a founder of the organization in 1994 under the name “Sally Ride Academy”.  Since its inception, WEI has grown to include not only summer academies but also customized professional development, coaching/mentoring, parental involvement, tutoring, youth services and much much more.  Melinda had the vision of STEM before the acronym and focus became popular in the early 2000′s.   During that period of time over 10,000 teachers have had the opportunity to attend high quality professional development programs in Southeast Wisconsin.   At this time Melinda will be stepping down as Executive Director and working part-time for WEI in the area of Fund Development.  All inquiries related to day-to-day activities should be directed to Bruce Connolly, Interim Executive Director or Jill Purvis, Program Coordinator.  They may be reached at 262-787-9500 x9554, 262-370-5451, bconnolly@cesa1.k12.wi.us or jill@inov8ed.com.
